so this is what a typhoon feels like
After a lot of hype for barely noticeable typhoons, we're finally sitting in the middle of a big one. It's been really windy since yesterday, damage has been done. A friend of a friend crashed his scooter because his helmet blew over his eyes. I woke up to Brad's cries for help this morning. The window above the air conditioner in his studio that he's been working on building for months now had been blocked up and sealed with styrofoam. This morning the styrofoam has disappeared and all his new dong shi has been soaked, including his beloved new mac.
I don't think there's any damage but it's an eye-opener. The wind is deafening, everybody's scooters are strewn all over the street and there's branches everywhere. And we left the motorcycle on the street at B's work...

Cool, nothing like a good storm.
You are so brave sending your man out into that....
Do's and Don'ts for typhoons:
1. do: nail piece of sturdy plywood over all styrofoam windows
2. don't: cause best thing that ever happened in your young life worry by perceiving catastrophic weather event as opportunity for outdoor frolic
3. Happy to see that your life is still pretty close to perfect even in Taiwan even with typhoon
